Dear Alumnus,

It gives me great pleasure to address our fellow alumni.

Many of us have fond memories of our University days, the UM alumni have lived, studied, played and reasoned together in a common university environment. The strong bonds of friendship, goodwill and understanding forged during those years of study have withstood the passage of time.

It is UM’s wish to keep in touch with alumni across generations and geographies to strengthen this bond of a common past and to encourage and nurture links with the present.

Since its inception way back in 1949, University of Malaya has produced well over 120,000 graduates and it takes pride in the knowledge that amongst these there has been a multitude of illustrious sons and daughters who had passed through this institution and moved on to greater heights. They have done their alma mater and country proud by serving and excelling as leaders of government, captains of industry and heads of institutions, etc.

Through the launching of the Alumni Portal, UM seeks to enhance interaction and connectivity within UM’s alumni community and continues to strengthen the bond of our common past.

To this end, University of Malaya seeks your continued support and cooperation in making it a success.
