i. Engineering

Research Chairs will be established for each of
the discipline stipulated above. The chairs can
be customised to suit the needs of the sponsors,
whether they be bank fnancial institutions,
development institutions or corporate organisations.
As an example, Research Chairs in Islamic Banking
or Islamic Finances or Industrial Economics may be
established based on the requirements of the funding
organisations.
Research Chairs are full-time professorial appointments.
The fund will be treated as an endowment fund whereby
the derived dividend will be utilized as grant that provides
funding for the salary of the Chair holder, infrastructure,
research tools and instruments, and general expenses
related to the Chair’s programmes of research.
