1. Photonics Engineering Research
The fundamental research seeks to create the next
generation optical chips that are low cost, fully fexible,
and multifunctional. The project will build upon a
patented, award winning technology called the Flat
Fibre.
2. Mind Driven Wheelchair
This project aims to design a new human-machine
interface particularly conceived for people with severe
disabilities (specifcally tetraplegicpeople), that allows
them to interact with the computer and move around
with the wheel chair for their everyday life by means of
thoughts.
3. Hydrogen Refueling Station & Dispenser Control
Systems Hydrogen gas as alternative fuel resources?
Due to its higher effciency, hydrogen gas is the low
polluting element that promises to be one of the most
effcient energy carries for future fuel. Hydrogen
refueling station and dispenser control systems will
be initiated in the University Malaya as a frst step
in commercializing the hydrogen infrastructure of
tomorrow.
4. Regenerative Biomechanics of Human Body
What could be a better way to repair the body than by
causing and helping the body to heal itself? We propose
to achieve rapid progress in this feld of regenerative
biomechanics, through obtaining real, reliable and
repeatable knowledge of the cellular response to
biomechanical and biochemical stimuli.
